The news. Yippee.
I've been looking up various news stories on www.newstext.com.au today. It sounds like a really interesting time-waster, I know. And it is!I've officially been informed by the following news articles
14 APR 1999 - Albert & Logan News
"A special celebration will be held at Springwood Christian Church on Sunday night for four young people who successfully completed the Teen Challenge Drug Rehabilitation Program."
Oh yes, how much does my church ROCK?! We're so lovely. Well, I wasn't there then, so they're so lovely.
13 JUN 2001 - Albert & Logan News
"VANDALS have targeted local churches this month, with the Springwood Christian Church and St Edward the Confessor Church at Daisy Hill being senselessly damaged."
Boo! Hiss! Naughty, naughty vandals. :o(
13 NOV 2002 - South-East Advertiser
"THE power of prayer will be put to the test this Friday when churches unite to pray for rain. Pastor David Hobbins said church leaders from all denominations would lead congregations "to ask God to send rain on our state and country". "All I can say is after the 15th you should walk everywhere with an umbrella," he said."
Now that is faith! I have no idea who Pastor Hobbins is, but he rocks. I found this story because I searched for the pastor of my old church, and he was involved. Meanwhile, we prayed for rain at church on Sunday, and it's been raining like crazy for the last two days! Yay!
03 JAN 1996 - Pine Rivers Press
"Stephen Swenson, of Arana Hills, the Hills Assembly of God youth pastor, is named Young Citizen of the Year."
Hmmmm, interesting tidbit... the person involved coincidentally has the same name of our ex-youth pastor, now-senior pastor. Very interesting indeed... :o)
This week has been rather interesting. I've been here in the office all alone, because everyone else (i.e. the three people I work with) is at our state conference. So there's not much to report. Hey, maybe I should do a quiz or something! That would be interesting. OK, here we go.
According to the 'Are you ready to be a mom?' test on www.tickle.com...
'Start clearing out that extra room... sounds like you're going to need a nursery before too much longer. Because, despite a few lingering hesitations, it looks like you're almost ready to change your name to "Mommy."'
Babies are lovely.
